About Cindy Nykorak
Cindy became interested in birth at a very young age. She began supporting women and their partners through their labours in 1997 as a doula, following the births of her first two children. She became a childbirth educator in 2001, and has helped many couples make the transition from couplehood to parenthood. Now a Certified BIRTHING FROM WITHIN® Mentor, trained by Pam England, as well as by the Manitoba Association for Childbirth and Family Education (MACFE), DONA and CAPPA, Cindy has continued to learn from each and every birthing woman and couple she has had the honour of working with. She is active in the community in many capacities as a volunteer. She has a strong set of ethics, and believes it is an honour to work with parents through their highly individual journeys through this rite of passage, and the everyday miracle of their baby's birth (and their own birth as parents!).
Cindy is Manitoba's first and only BIRTHING FROM WITHIN® trained Doula.
Cindy helps parents uncover their inner wisdom by widening their view of childbirth as a natural, normal event in women’s lives. She encourages women to birth from within, and to give birth in awareness, regardless of where their birth journey leads them, and is trained to help women gain insight and understanding about their births postpartum.
Seeing a need in Winnipeg and the surrounding area for this unique style of birthwork, Cindy founded mothersjourney childbirth support services in 2005.

Loving a new baby, weeks before welcoming her home.
discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding
your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to
see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking
courageous challenges at every step along the way. You
are on the path... exactly where you are meant to be right
now... And from here, you can only go forward, shaping
your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing,
of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and
of love."

Much like a labyrinth, the journeys through pregnancy,
birth and parenting each have one entrance and one exit.
The journey will have many twists and turns along the way,
but eventually when we follow along, one foot in front of
the other, we all find the centre.
